We first stayed at River Hotel in 2003 - how time flies - and have returned on several occasions. The hotel is beautifully situated and the breakfasts are very good- a lovely help yourself buffet and tasty hot food. Service is with a smile and all the staff very accommodating. Pity they do not stretch to evening meals, although there is an all day bar! - David and Catherine C

The location is just a stone throw from the station. However, if the room is equipped with more powerful fans will be great as we were staying during the extreme high heat period, it was not really comfortable to sleep without enough ventilation during the night. The breakfast was nice and we enjoyed it more than any other thing. Overall, the service was good, the only issue was the heat in the room during summer without air con - M
